APLU’s Shalin Jyotishi gave a presentation during a workshop organized by the National Science Policy Network (NSPN) and hosted by the American Association for the Advancement of Science regarding leveraging the Journal of Science Policy & Governance as a vehicle to engage university student organizations in science, technology and policy debate. Jyotishi serves as the CEO of the journal, an internationally recognized peer-review publication dedicated to empowering university students, post-docs and early-career trainees in policy debate. The presentation recording will be available on the NSPN website later this fall.

Eugene Anderson, APLU's Vice President for Access and Success, presented at Delaware State University’s 2018 HBCU Philanthropy Symposium on legacy, duality and prosperity at HBCUs. He described the importance of HBCU contribution, navigating shifting enrollments, competing with new providers and innovating on campus to prepare for innovating off-campus.
Eugene Anderson, APLU's Vice President for Access and Success served as a collaborative accelerator for UNCF CPI convening sessions. He was tasked to push the level of sharing and dialogue to ensure that institutional participants fully engage. Industry experts and HBCU faculty, staff and executive leaders discussed and shared knowledge on technology-driven best practices. He also sat on a panel for the collaborative fishbowl session where he explained the most stimulating topics discussed during the conference and action items for the future.
