Through the APLU Innovation and Economic Prosperity Universities program, institutions are recognized for their efforts in economic engagement by receiving this designation. The designation identifies institutions working to advance the economic wellbeing of their states, regions, and the nation through a variety of efforts. The IEP Universities program is divided into two submission processes—one for the designation and one for the award. A university must be a recipient of the designation before it can apply for the award.
