Serving as an engaged member of the Business Advising and Student Engagement Team, the position will advise undergraduate students in the College of Business (CoB) using knowledge of CoB programs, policies, and procedures as well as university programs. This position will assist students with understanding academic standards, major/minor options, and course selection opportunities, and will serve as a referral agent to appropriate campus resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
About the College of Business
The College is in a period of tremendous growth. Enrollments have risen dramatically in the last five years, 50 new faculty have been hired, and new resources have enabled continued faculty hiring. A new 240,000 square foot state-of-the-art College of Business building opened in the fall of 2017. Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience with 1:1 college (or closely related) student contact required. MA degree in related field may substitute for experience. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student backgrounds necessary. Demonstrated competency in common office technology software systems essential. Must have demonstrated organizational and writing skills.
Master’s degree in higher education administration, college student personnel, counseling, or related field preferred. Experience using student information systems and technology platforms desirable. Demonstrated advising and/or counseling skills helpful.
