Serve as Academic Advisor to undergraduate students specializing in Human Development and Family Science within the College of Human Sciences. Collaborate with and assist fellow College of Human Sciences’ advisors and the staff in the Center for Student Success. Teach First-Year Seminar course for HDFS freshmen and/or transfer students, as needed. Meet and communicate regularly with department and college faculty and administrators regarding curriculum and practices of the department. Provide assistance to student retention initiatives. Assist with student leadership development programs including serving as advisor for the Human Development and Family Science Club and the Early Childhood Education Club. Perform administrative duties and implement or assist with special projects as assigned. Represent the Human Development and Family Science department at assigned meetings and events. Evaluate student records and maintain student files. Serve/advise prospective students and their families as needed. All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree Human Development and Family Science or related field. 0-2 years’ experience in academic advising or a closely related set of responsibilities. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree. At least one degree within the Human Sciences disciplines. Four years of experience in a closely related position. Knowledge of OSU systems preferred.
