Administrative Financial Specialist

Pay Range: $14.76 per hour or higher depending on experience
Full/Part Time: Full Time
Under direction of the Manager of Accounts Payable, collecting and interpreting a variety of data for the purpose of auditing and reviewing a variety of documents for compliance with established State, Federal, Internal Revenue Service and University policies and procedures. Review Vendor documents for tax preparations and maintain the University Vendor Database for individuals and vendors. Monitoring, reconciling and maintaining records, correspondence and files; determining proper compliance with established policies and taking appropriate corrective actions and preforming related tasks. Assisting the Accounts Payable Manager with updating or implementation of new technologies, development of strategic initiatives and apply the initiatives to the Accounts Payable processes in order to meet departmental goals.
Bachelor Degree in Business or a relative field or 4 years relevant experience in administrative support or financial management processing
Interpreting, applying and explaining complex information such as regulations, policies or services
Independently solving problems/performing liaison activities in a work setting
Coordinating activities requiring complex arrangements
Good knowledge of:
Office support functions including word processing and data management with experience in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets
Filing or organizing data
Composing a variety of business documents
Researching, compiling and summarizing data for reports
Good knowledge of managing data
Experience with Document Imaging relating to Workflow, demonstrated good working knowledge and experiences using Banner Finance, experiences in Accounts Payable activities
Demonstrated ability to work in a high-volume environment where great emphasis is placed on customer service
Researching and compiling financial information and preparing summaries and reports
Planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating special projects/reports
Analyzing information, identifying problems, defining alternatives and developing recommendations for management/administrators
Using Sitecore or other web page applications
Knowledge of: Applicable University of Idaho, State of Idaho, and federal policies and practices.
Accepted bookkeeping procedures and practices, and financial records management.
Ability to: Communicate well and effectively, both orally and in writing
Work productively with minimal supervision
Utilize Banner database system to enter/retrieve information
Create, maintain, and edit web pages
