Area Maintenance Supervisor

Pay Range: $12.56 per hour or higher depending on experience

Full/Part Time: Full Time

Position Summary:

Perform and supervise cleaning and minor maintenance tasks for buildings and grounds and operate and maintain associated equipment. Assist in building repair projects involving carpentry, mechanics, plumbing, and electrical work.

Minimum Qualifications:

Good knowledge of methods and materials used in custodial work and grounds maintenance and associated tools, equipment, and safety practices.

Experience performing custodial building maintenance, minor maintenance on plumbing and irrigating systems using hand tools; operating all types of lawn equipment, such as lawn tractors, baggers, weed eater, leaf, blower, and edger,

and performing minor repair and maintenance on grounds equipment, as well as hand and power tools associated with landscaping and grounds equipment; understanding and following directions and labels.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education must be sufficient enough to provide adequate skills in math, reading, analytical problem solving and oral and written communication. Two years experience in areas related to this position.

Knowledge of: custodial functions and custodial equipment; building and grounds operations; flower and shrubbery care and planting.

Ability to operate light trucks and small tractors, keep records pertaining to job functions and assigned areas; effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

Utilize good human relations skills while supervising other workers.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

Ability to climb ladders, bend, stoops, stand and walk continuously throughout shift. Ability to lift, carry or otherwise move up to 50 lbs.
