Assistant or Associate Professor of Theatre - Scenic Design

Oklahoma State University Department of Theatre invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor of Scenic Design to begin August 16, 2018. This position is responsible for teaching one course in the design and technology area each semester as well as practicum courses, providing the scenic designs of mainstage productions, overseeing the design and implementation of stage properties, acting as charge artist for mainstage productions, maintaining an active research profile and fulfilling service commitments to the profession, university, and community. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and credentials.

Qualifications: MFA in scene design or comparable degree, successful university teaching and evidence of creative achievement appropriate for rank. Candidate must have experience coordinating and mentoring student crews of various skill levels, while meeting production deadlines set out in the master calendar. Candidate must be proficient with traditional and current scenic techniques and materials. Digital design in AutoCad and/or Vectorworks is required. Secondary design area in lighting is highly valued. A successful faculty candidate will be able to teach from a multicultural perspective and be willing to mentor ethnically and racially underrepresented students.
