Assistant Professor in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology

The Department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology (NEP), Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, Washington State University Health Sciences in Spokane, WA, invites applications for two permanent, full-time, tenure-track, 9-month academic appointments at the rank of Assistant Professor. Position 1 will begin no later than May 1 and position 2 no later than August 16, 2018. More information about NEP can be found on our homepage:

Duties: Tenure-track faculty members in NEP are expected to teach and advise undergraduate and graduate students; develop and conduct a program of independent, collaborative, and/or cross-disciplinary research, leading to peer-reviewed publications; pursue internal and external grant funding; and provide service to the department, college, university, public and/or profession. We are seeking applicants with a research focus in clinical- or community-based populations.

· Position 1 will teach courses and conduct research in exercise science, and will be responsible for directing the undergraduate exercise internship.

· Position 2 will teach courses and conduct research in human nutritional sciences.

Requirements: Both positions require an earned terminal degree (e.g., PhD) by the hire date. Position 1 will be in exercise physiology, exercise science, kinesiology or related field, and will also require certification as an ACSM CEP or RCEP by the hire date. Position 2 will be in human nutrition, nutritional sciences, or related field, and will also require the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) credential by the hire date. Candidates with at least 1 year of postdoctoral research experience preferred. Candidates not currently holding CEP/RCEP or RD/RDN credentials must be eligible to sit for the examination prior to the start date.
