The Department of Sociology & Rural Studies invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin Fall 2017. It seeks a colleague whose duties will include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level; maintaining an active, independent research agenda that includes peer-reviewed publications and grant activity; graduate and undergraduate advising; and service to the department and university. The maximum teaching load is three courses per semester. The department seeks someone with quantitative research skills and expertise in any of the following areas: demography, indigenous studies, indigenous methods, development, globalization. A commitment to public/applied sociology is also desired.
