Assistant Vice-President, USF World

This Assistant Vice President position will be part of the USF World leadership responsible for recrafting the strategic global partnerships for USF as the institution accelerates towards AAU invitation. Historically USF's global university partnerships have been most successful in the area of academic/educational articulation and associated student/faculty mobility. At this point, USF World is seeking a scholar with a significant research folio and a demonstrated capacity for data driven decision-making to refocus institutional efforts on establishing outcome based research partnerships worldwide.

This position will consult with senior leadership in USF World, Academic Affairs, USF Health and USF Research & Innovation to create a focused and strategic global research partnership plan, thereby driving the future growth of the USF partnerships overseas. This will require working with the Provost, the Vice Provost for University Reputation and Impact, and with the Senior Vice President and Sr. Associate Vice President in Research & Innovation as well as college Deans to ensure globally engaged faculty researchers at USF are documented, supported, and channeled towards strategically elevated partnerships. As such, the duties will be important to USF World but also across the university infrastructure.

Once the data driven audit is complete, this position will engage the appropriate faculty and research systems at USF, and liaise with the identified key university contacts around the world to create plans for research generation, grant/contract writing options, and other forms of translational research including entrepreneurial and innovative community engagement and researcher exchange. Identify those faculty with evidence of consistent, productive, and documented research engagement around the world as potential research scholars and research "ambassadors."

Work with the Office of Decision Support and USF World to establish critical and viable USF global research data sets. This will include utilizing SciVal and other platforms as needed to situate USF's research profile in the context of leading research universities worldwide

Audit current partnerships to establish existing research outcomes and engage with Senior International Research Officers at identified universities worldwide and be prepared when necessary to travel and construct/confirm institutional understandings.

Ensure all partnership materials are constructed with the approval of General Counsel and the Institutional Provost and hold regular consultation sessions with Academic Affairs Research and Innovation, USF Health.

Represent USF World on institutional committees as appropriate and engage in broader USF World leadership activities and present periodic and annual reports to USF World and key stakeholder organizations

This appointment may be considered for the rank of Full Professor based on credentials.
