Associate Research & Extension Director - Metro District
Salary: Negotiable

The University of Nebraska Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources is seeking candidates for the position of Associate Research and Extension Director (ARED), for the Metro extension district within the Eastern Nebraska Research and Extension Center (ENREC). This administrative positon reports to the Director of the Eastern Nebraska Research and Extension Center. The ARED for the Metro district will be located in Omaha or at ENREC and will provide leadership for 6 counties, which include the Omaha and Lincoln metropolitan areas. Faculty rank and tenure will be available to interested candidates with a terminal degree and appropriate academic accomplishments. The successful candidate for this position will develop and implement a robust and relevant vision for the district that delivers high impact educational programs from innovative and integrated research and extension, and serve as a change agent to evolve programs, resources, and human capacity. The ARED will engage leaders, organizations and businesses in the district and beyond to identify forward-looking opportunities to advance district and state priorities.

Required qualifications are a M.S. or equivalent terminal degree in Ag Economics, Biological Systems Engineering, Human Nutrition, Agronomy, Animal Science or other IANR discipline relevant to the needs of a metropolitan research and extension district. Significant and successful extension and/or research experience with demonstrated experience in extension program development and delivery, and/or research efforts in a Metropolitan district, environment, or setting is also required. Administrative experience, including direct supervision of staff, budgets, expenditures and extension program development, is preferred.
