The University of California (UC) seeks an engaging and innovative leader for the Cooperative Extension programs in California. Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) is a statewide division of the University of California, focused on agriculture, natural resources, youth development and nutrition, and bringing the power of UC research to bear on critical issues facing California and the world.
ANR employs over 1,350 individuals, working across all of California's counties, at nine Research and Extension Centers and at three administrative hubs. The nine Research and Extension Centers in California have more than 11,000 acres for research. More than 300 Cooperative Extension academics are actively engaged in research and extension projects statewide; and ANR also partners with approximately 700 campus-based Agricultural Experiment Station faculty at UC Berkeley, UC Davis and UC Riverside.
The Associate Vice President provides critical leadership for program development and establishes priorities for the division within the scope of UC and land grant university missions. The Associate Vice President also provides leadership for Cooperative Extension programs in agriculture, natural and human resources within UC, and at state and national levels.
Reporting to the Vice President Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Associate Vice President holds dual titles of Associate Director- Agriculture Experiment Station and Associate Director-Cooperative Extension. The position is headquartered in Oakland, California, with a second office in Davis, California.
