The Department of Teaching, Learning, and Leadership at SDSU is looking to fill a nine-month, tenure-track Associate/Assistant Professor position in the area of Educational Leadership. We seek scholars committed to core issues in K-12 leadership and the improvement of school organizations and educational systems, particularly in rural schools. Specifically, the individual in this position is expected to: contribute to the field through active research, publishing, and securing external funding; collaborate with faculty and professional colleagues to shape high quality online graduate programs in EDAD and C&I; teach master’s level and undergraduate courses (both face-to-face and online); advise students and supervise graduate interns; and engage in institutional and professional service.
Minimum qualifications include: Earned Doctorate in Educational Leadership, Educational Administration, or Education or evidence that the doctoral degree in one of these areas will be completed prior to the start of the appointment; research and scholarship in one or more of the following areas: educational leadership and policy; teacher professional development; use of innovative methods; developing K-12, university, and community partnerships; leading change in rural education; and a demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with others.
Preferred qualifications include: experience working with initiatives, projects, and programs that focus on improving the development of leaders in rural schools and communities and leading school change.
