This position is with the Center for Applied Research and Engagement Systems (CARES), MU Extension, University of Missouri. The full-time position will develop computer programs and web-based interfaces in support of multiple nationally-recognized projects at CARES (https://cares.missouri.edu).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The position will be assigned project-based computer programming and web development tasks. The position will be responsible for supporting web-based content management systems, data visualization interfaces, and other programming duties as assigned. The position will work with on- and off-campus project sponsors, and collaborate with other staff at CARES. The position will report to CARES management staff.

Conduct all activities in accordance with the Civil Rights Acts, Title IX, Rehabilitation, Americans with Disabilities Act and local, state and region affirmative action plans.

As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected to support the mission and purpose of MU Extension.

LEADERSHIP RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Administrative supervision is received from CARES management staff.

ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Excellent communication skills, experience with JavaScript, HTML, and PHP, and knowledge of WordPress are expected. Experience with Python, knowledge of spatial data and relational databases (such as MSSQL and PostgreSQL), and experience with both Linux and Windows Server are preferred.
