Human Environmental Sciences Extension promotes optimal well-being of individuals, families and communities, with special recognition for the needs of vulnerable populations. HES Extension offers a variety of educational programs throughout the state, including the Family Nutrition Education Program for individuals and families.

This full-time position is responsible for providing a variety of administrative duties in support of approximately 13 employees throughout the Northwest region who are dedicated to bringing the latest nutrition information to low-income Missourians. This position coordinates the daily office operations as it relates to the Grant Funded Family Nutrition Education Program. Duties are primarily related to helping organize and coordinate faculty and staff related with the program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

50% Responsible for the intake, management, and maintenance of up-to-date records of all FNEP program activities. Intake, track, and provide data entry from program paperwork into web-based program. Verify data, identify concerns, and initiate communication when necessary.

35% Assist with processing, reconciling, monitoring, and reporting financial, grant, and other data, ensuring deadlines and requirements are followed; ensure accuracy of expenditures and compliance with policies; process invoices and vouchers, reconcile purchasing cards and monitor/report on other financial data necessary to ensure fiscally responsible and successful programs; communicate regularly with supervisor regarding status of paperwork.

15% Greet/provide information and assistance to office visitors in order to provide service/support to visitors using own knowledge of office policies and procedures. Answer phones and provide other support as needed to the regional FNEP office. Provide administrative office support as necessary including making copies, printing reports, ordering supplies and equipment from outside vendor and University departments using approved purchasing practices according to supervisor approval. Occasional lifting of boxes supply purchases may be necessary.

LEADERSHIP RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

This position reports to the Northwest FNEP Project Director/Coordinator. Functional supervision may be exercised over a small to medium sized office support staff and volunteers.

Salary Range: $13.27 - $13.46

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to applicants with an Associate’s degree or 60 hours of college credit.

Experience with coordinating, as well as financial experience including maintaining and reconciling grants and contracts helpful.

Prior experience with University of Missouri clerical and fiscal processes and policies. Analytical skills and demonstrated organizational skills. Proficient computer skills. Microsoft Office software including spreadsheets and database applications, and PeopleSoft software knowledge a plus. The ability to type is necessary.

Professional and friendly demeanor with a demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals.

Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
