The Missouri AfterSchool Network (MASN) is housed within the 4-H Center for Youth Development. MASN brings partners together to provide a statewide system for the development, implementation, and ultimate sustainability of high quality, safe, nurturing afterschool programs for extended experiential learning, academic achievement, and social, recreational, and personal life skills development espousing the principals of best practices in youth development for all Missouri students during non-school hours. This position is a full-time benefit-eligible position with the University of Missouri Extension 4-H Center, responsible for assisting with the management of the Missouri AfterSchool Network and implementing special projects based on funding priorities. Work as a team member throughout MU Extension.


Responsible for developing partnerships and resources to increase the ability of afterschool programs to offer impactful college and career readiness activities for their youth. Duties may include: convening a college and career readiness taskforce, joining the Missouri College Advising Network, meeting with state department initiatives, creating new resources, and hosting campus events for middle and high school students.

Assist with overall management of the Missouri AfterSchool Network to ensure effective implementation of programs that raise the profile of afterschool and support afterschool staff as they increase the quality of their programs. Duties may include grant management and reporting, staff supervision, and program evaluation. Attend meetings and participate in professional development.

Help to set the strategic direction for future MASN work. Duties may include Leadership Team development, strategic planning, and fundraising. Contribute to an existing high functioning team of support staff, program staff and faculty.

Conduct all activities in accordance with the Civil Rights Acts, Title IX, Rehabilitation, Americans with Disabilities Act and local, state and region affirmative action plans.

As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and purpose of MU Extension.


This position reports to the MASN Director and has supervision of MASN’s Senior Coordinators. Functional supervision may be exercised over other MASN staff and student assistants.

Salary Range: $47,476 - $60,000 Annually

Grade: GGS-010

Flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, is required to fulfill assigned responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to travel and work flexible hours is required.

Experience in 4-H youth, afterschool programming or other comparable community-based youth programs.

Demonstrated ability to work with boards and volunteer groups to enhance the success of educational programs.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Professional and friendly demeanor with a demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals.
