FPP Project Manager

Fire Protection Publications (FPP) is seeking applications for the position of FPP Graphics Unit Manager. FPP is a department within the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology (CEAT) at Oklahoma State University (OSU) and is the headquarters of the International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA). As the world's leading publisher of high quality and technically accurate training materials, FPP provides a vital service to the fire and emergency services community. Manage the Graphic Production Unit of Fire Protection Publications, establish goals, provide direction and supervision in the preparation and final production of resale products, advertising/marketing materials and in-house forms and publications. Oversee acquisition and distribution of materials and equipment necessary to the daily operation of the production department. Prepare cost estimates specifications for new projects and re-orders and monitors product scheduling to assess needs for temporary or long-term expansion to facilitate preparation of materials. This person currently supervises four (4) fulltime Senior Graphic Designers. Handle sharp knives and tools. Some products used daily are chemicals which are irritants or can cause allergic reactions for some individuals. Continual use of computers is required in this position.

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Business, or related field and three years work-related experience in graphic production, graphic design, printing, or a related field. Organizational skills; ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects with overlapping deadlines in a professional publishing operation; ability to supervise creative professionals; skills in graphic design and typography, photography, knowledge and experience in publishing and printing; budgeting, and cost analysis and estimating; developing specification for print and electronic materials.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Graphic Design, Business, or related field. Five years work-related experience in graphic production, graphic design, printing, or a related field.
