The HR Partner position is responsible for supporting all operational functions in HR such as onboarding, payroll, benefits processing, and aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated functional areas. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues while serving as an employee champion.
The role assesses and anticipates HR related needs. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees while reflecting the business objectives of the organizational unit. Areas of responsibility include staffing, employee relations, compensation, classification and policy interpretation. Position will be responsible for various training seminars, as needed. Promotional opportunities may be available through established career development plan.
Regular office hours are M-F; 8:00-5:00 p.m. Workload may extend beyond the normal workweek as required to complete responsibilities, projects, etc (to include some early mornings, evenings and/or weekends). This position will require frequent travel to Langston campus. The incumbent will be expected to spend approximately 30-40% of his/her time at the Langston campus. Occasional in-state and out-of-state travel may occur for approved training opportunities. Most travel will not require an overnight stay.
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field and at least three years of experience within an HR Department. Valid Driver's License. Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures. Excellent organization and time management skills. Good knowledge of employment/labor laws. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Proficient in use of Microsoft Office; Human Resources Information Systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Aptitude in problem-solving. Desire to work as a team with a results driven approach.
Prefer candidate with ten years' of progressive human resources experience or similar experience and PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP or similar certification.
