Mail Services Lead/Finance Technician

Location: Moscow

Pay Range: $12.02-$14.49 per hour or higher depending on experience

Position Summary:

Maintains records and prepares reports, performs receptionist duties, supervises and processes bulk mail, supervises mail room staff in the absence of the supervisor, and other miscellaneous duties as required and directed;. Sorts, classifies, rates and posts out going US Mail, UPS and bulk mail and provides various other mailing services. Assists in operating mailing machine to affix postage using a computerized system. Sort incoming mail received from US Post Office and intra-campus mail, and work (pick-up/deliver) route as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

Two years experience: researching and compiling financial information and preparing summaries and reports; using personal computers to enter, retrieve, and edit financial data.

Considerable Knowledge of: various mail services; bookkeeping; supervisory practices.

Good knowledge of financial record keeping methods.

Knowledge of: adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing whole numbers; maintaining records; reviewing documents for accuracy and completeness.

Considerable knowledge of: Computers, and specialized software; computerized addressing and labeling equipment;

Ability to: work efficiently alone and/or cooperatively cooperatively with others under heavy work pressure; work closely with local USPS bulk mail clerk.

Demonstrated Experience: providing quality customer service, ensuring customer

satisfaction and striving for continuous service improvements; and performing

work in a reliable and dependable manner as shown through work history, school or references.

Must posses excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must possess: a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving University vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience; interpreting and applying postal regulations and rate structures; operating and maintaining postal equipment, working with DOT HAZ-MAT and related hazardous materials.

Considerable knowledge of: Standard, Non-profit, Periodical, Pre-sort First Class mailing rules and regulations; ascom-Hasler mailing machines; pre-sorting, bundling, traying, and bagging bulk mail for deposit at the local Post Office; postal forms and reports.

Experience directing other employees in proper preparation of bulk mail when help is required; determine mail piece qualification, interacting with departments on design and content of mail pieces; and keeping current on USPS regulations and changes.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

Physical ability to: stand and walk up to seven hours per shift; ability to lift , carry or otherwise move up to 70 pounds, work in all weather conditions; drive a vehicle in all weather conditions; and work in a dusty and noisy environment.
