This position is responsible for the design, installation, and maintenance of OSU's network and telephone services. Additionally, this position will analyze the status of current network systems, and recommend changes to improve telecommunications services and security. Required to be in an on-call/stand-by status for after hours and weekend emergencies, on a rotating basis. Due to communication expectations of the position, the incumbent will be required to maintain cellular or other electronic communication device. The incumbent's salary includes additional compensation to apply toward the use of their personal cellular device. Position may also require occasional travel. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor degree and one year of enterprise network engineering experience. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and repetitive climbing of stairs and ladders.
Prefer candidate with bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering. Five years of enterprise networking engineering experience. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP). Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA). Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA). Network +. Experience with the design, installation, maintenance, and analysis of enterprise data, VoIP, PBX, and wireless network infrastructure. Proficiency in programming, scripting, Unix/Linux administration, Windows administration and VMWare.
