Position Summary:

This position will explore and develop new food technologies by modifying and enhancing end-use of food, commodities, and byproducts of food manufacturing through various processing and chemical methods. Experience and knowledge in the field of cereal chemistry and processing is preferred, but not required. Individuals with experience in seafood are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful applicant will have a Ph.D. in Food Science or closely related field. The incumbent is expected to develop an outstanding program of research. To accomplish this, one will need to work well and efficiently in a team environment, will independently lead their own projects with little oversight, and is expected to communicate effectively with collaborators, scientists, and stakeholders to promote and disseminate research.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Food Science or closely related field at the time of starting the position.

Demonstrated record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals.

Strong laboratory and analytical skills.

Highly organized.

Experience in statistical analysis and interpretation of data.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong data and project management skills.
