Pay Range: $56,269 annually or higher to commensurate with experience

Full/Part Time: Full Time

Position Summary:

The Programmer Analyst provides service to the academic community by providing programming, design and analysis work, and systems development. The Programmer Analyst also assists with PC desktop systems administration services. The Programmer Analyst assists the Senior Programmer Analyst in effective management of the Banner Student Module and other enterprise system applications and interfaces for the Office of the Registrar. The Programmer Analyst works independently and in a team with other staff to design and develop programming as needed and assists in the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of complex software and hardware products in the Office of the Registrar. The Programmer Analyst works directly with Office of the Registrar staff and with the University community to develop or resolve system and application design needs. The Programmer Analyst works with other Office of the Registrar staff to ensure excellent service to the University community and by performing other duties as assigned. The person is a member of the Office of the Registrar team and works cooperatively with other office staff to achieve University and Office of the Registrar goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

-Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline

Experience:

- writing in one or more commonly used software programming languages (e.g. C, Pro*C, PL/SQL , javascript, HTML , XML , Java, Groovy and the Grails Framework);

- writing software programming specifications;

- writing software documentation.

Ability to:

-think clearly under pressure;

-work with diverse groups of people;

-work with minimal direct supervision in a group or autonomously.

Skills:

-excellent written and verbal communication skills.

-excellent interpersonal skills;

-excellent time management and organization skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

-Master’s degree

Experience in:

- Registrar’s Office;

- Higher Education;

- Project Management;

- Banner Student.

Experience with:

-implementing, maintaining, and designing enterprise software programs;

-database programming (Oracle);

-operating systems including UNIX /Linux and Windows;

-performing data analysis;

-testing and debugging IT systems;

-choosing appropriate platforms;

-interacting effectively with users to perform system design analysis;

-writing application system documentation;

-computer systems administration;

-handling confidential information;

-strong knowledge and understanding of computer security issues.

Ability to:

-analyze complex concepts and solve complex problems efficiently;

-prepare short-term and long-term strategies for planning purposes.
