Senior Business Administrator I

This position is responsible for managing, leading, planning, directing, coordinating, monitoring and supervising financial systems applicable to programs within the College of Agriculture and Human Sciences (CAHS), which includes the Cooperative Agricultural Research Center (CARC), the Cooperative Extension Programs (CEP), and the Academic unit.

Primary duties include, but are not limited to, managing a budget of over $20 million for the College and its subsidiary units by supervising accounting and budgeting; overseeing operational procedures and regulatory requirements by managing, planning, directing and monitoring all financial systems and programs within the College under the supervision of the Dean and Director; supervising the shared services and personnel in the areas of travel, procurement, accounting, reconciliation, inventory and equipment, facilities management and general administration; ensuring applicable Federal, Statue, and University fiscal rules and regulations are interpreted correctly; developing contracts and relationships with parties to achieve division/organizational goals, policies and procedures; ensuring all Federal and University fiscal reports are completed and submitted on a timely basis; conducting self-audits to ensure that the shared services are in compliance with standards set for quality and timeliness by the sponsors of the grants or University; ensuring cross-training of staff for efficiency and competency in performing job responsibilities; managing resources effectively to provide for employee training and growth to meet operational goals and objectives; addressing quality monitoring and performance improvement issues for program and area of responsibilities; ensuring integrity of information systems, internal controls and data, including recommending modifications as required.
