Pay Range: $89,154 - $111,443 annually, depending on experience

Position Summary:

The College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS ) Director of Administrative Services and Fiscal Officer reports to the Dean of CALS and has the responsibility of maintaining the fiscal and human resource/employee engagement integrity of the college. This position provides leadership and guidance on financial and administrative support functions for nine (9) departments, four (4) University of Idaho Extension Districts, eight (8) off-campus Research & Extension Centers, one (1) on campus Research & Extension Center, (R&E) and forty two (42) county UI Extension offices located across the state. The position is the administrative and supervisory authority for the college Administrative Services Unit which includes management and oversight of all budgets and funding sources with special attention to all Federal and State regulatory guidelines as well as all employee engagement matters involving the Central HR and Legal Counsel office. The Director of Administrative Services and Fiscal Officer is an active member of the college leadership team working to assist and support the functions of the Dean and Associate Deans in the administrative areas of teaching, research and extension, ensuring compliance with university, state and federal policies, procedures and laws. The Director of Administrative Services and Fiscal Officer will also work with college administrators to provide strategic planning and policy development to meet the goals and mission of the college. The Director of Administrative Services and Fiscal Officer works closely with university central administrative departments and serves as liaison and representative in areas of finance, budgeting and personnel. The Director of Administrative Services and Fiscal Officer also serves as liaison with State Board of Education, Idaho Department of Financial Management and Idaho Legislative Services Office for all matters involving the College of Agricultural & Life Sciences.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, accounting, human resources or related area.

Five years of management-level experience in the areas of budget, fiscal or administrative services support, including experience with electronic systems, human resources and/or business administration.

Three years management level experience.

Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups.

Strong supervisory experience.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in business, economics, accounting or related field.

Three years management level experience working with university administrative offices.

Experience with state or federal fund allocation and budget processes.

Experience utilizing database systems, spreadsheets and accounting systems to analyze, compile and produce a variety of reports.

Proficient in the use of the UI Banner system.

Experience working within a land-grant institution.
