Position Summary:

Responsible for maintaining clean and orderly facilities for students, faculty and staff; secure assigned buildings; respond to special cleaning requests; and participate in cleaning and maintenance activities as part of a self-directed work team. Team Cleaning Specialists are trained to perform one or more of the following functions: light duty specialist; vacuuming specialist, restroom specialist; and utility specialist; performing related work.

Minimum Qualifications:

Willingness to: perform duties associated with commercial cleaning, including operating industrial-type cleaning equipment such as buffers, burnishers, shampooers, and vacuum cleaners; cleaning restrooms, bath facilities, locker rooms, swimming pools, and/or similar facilities; moving heavy items such as tables, furniture, bleachers, cleaning equipment, supplies, and other related cleaning devices; repair the equipment and related devices operated in cleaning.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated attitude toward customer satisfaction and continuous quality service improvement; ability to work as part of a team and cooperate with others; reliability/dependability through work history, school, business, or references.

Experience indicating a skill level necessary to perform any of the assigned custodial tasks; working in a team cleaning environment; working around students; working in a custodial and/or commercial cleaning capacity.

Work special events; and/or other times as may be assigned.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

Bend, stoop, lift, carry and/or otherwise move items weighing up to approximately 60 pounds; stand and walk continuously throughout the shift.

The ability to work day, swing, or night positions and/or climb and work from ladders.
