Training Program Coordinator (R19-07)

The Professional Development Program (PDP) of the University at Albany’s Rockefeller College seeks a service-minded individual who is committed to performing high-quality work to fill a Training Program Coordinator position located in Albany, NY.

Description of Duties: 

This position coordinates, conducts, and directs the project activities of a professional adult education and training project, including instructional design, curriculum development and revisions, training and facilitation, staff oversight, and scheduling, organizing and monitoring of project activities to meet contract deliverables in support of NYS policy initiatives supporting homeless services. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: coordinating and implementing adult education and training programs in the area of homeless services; preparing high quality training and written materials in conformance with project objectives; scheduling project activities, preparing reports, needs assessments, correspondence, and related project documents; maintaining project records; serving as a Master Trainer; developing and revising curricula; conducting training and facilitating meetings and forums; organizing and monitoring all project activities; providing staff oversight, and serving as liaison to project sponsors, trainees, and other stakeholders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in Social Welfare, Public Administration and Policy, Adult Education, Communications, or a related field;
  2. Five years’ experience in the development and delivery of adult training curriculum or a combination of this and experience with homeless services and programs.
  3. Working knowledge of New York State social service delivery system and policy initiatives concerning homeless services;
  4. Knowledge of adult learning principles and experience conducting programs for adult learners;
  5. Staff supervision experience;
  6. Excellent writing, speaking, training and interpersonal communication skills;
  7. Ability to work well independently and in a team setting with a strong customer orientation;
  8. Applicant must address in their application their abilities and experience in working with a culturally diverse groups of people;
  9. Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines with strong attention to detail;
  10. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Power Point, and Outlook;
  11. Ability to travel regularly throughout NYS to deliver trainings and attend meetings, including travel to areas that may not be served by public transportation, and the ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Master’s degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in Social Welfare, Public Administration and Policy, Adult Education, Communications, or a related field, and a minimum of three years’ experience in the development and delivery of adult training curriculum;
  2. Prior experience in project management and/or administration;
  3. Experience in the development and delivery of homeless services and programs in NYS;
  4. Prior experience working within a state or county social services agency or humans services organization.

SPECIAL NOTES: Employment is with The Research Foundation for The State University of New York, a private, nonprofit, educational corporation that administers sponsored program activity for the University at Albany.
