Utah State University invites applications and nominations for the position of Vice President for Marketing and Communications. Founded in 1888 as the state’s land-grant university, Utah State is known for its strength in academics and counts 22 Goldwater Scholars among its graduates in the past 11 years. USU brought in $240 million research funding in fiscal year 2016, a record number, and now has fourteen Carnegie Professors of the Year – more than any other school in the state. In May 2017, USU was named as the #1 “Best School of 2017” by schools.com and as the #2 highest-ranked public university in the nation with lowest tuition in “America’s Best Value Colleges" (Forbes, "America's Best Value Colleges," May 2017).
Home to USU’s main campus, Logan is located in northern Utah’s Cache Valley. The mountain valley city of 50,000 is ranked in the top 15 (and number two in the West) for Best College Towns, according to the AIER College Destination Index. Consistently ranked among outstanding places to live, Logan is a notably safe and family-friendly community. In 2016, Logan was named as the 12th “Best College Town in America,” by Niche in 2015. Logan hosts an opera company, theatre company, galleries, and the American West Heritage Center. The town is within two-hours of 10 major ski resorts, several of which hosted sites for the 2002 Winter Olympics. It is also within a half-day’s drive to seven national parks including Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Arches, Zion, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, and Bryce Canyon.
