APLU engages its membership through a series of initiatives led by councils and commissions, which help drive the APLU agenda. The APLU council structure enables university leaders with comparable titles, working in similar positions, to come together to address critical issues and expand their knowledge base within their professional area of expertise. The commission structure enables individuals, regardless of position and from multiple disciplines across the universities, to come together to address critical issues and expand their knowledge base in areas of common interest.

The nomination period for the APLU Board on Human Sciences’ Public Service and Lifetime Achievement awards is open until July 20. The awards, which recognize national leaders who have advanced the human sciences, will be presented on November 12, 2018 at APLU’s 131st Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana. Washington, DC — The Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) Board on Agriculture Assembly Academic Programs Section today named winners of its 2018 Innovative Teaching Awards. In their fifth year, the awards are intended to bolster innovation in the post-secondary teaching of agriculture and related fields.
