May 16, 2011—The Pew Research Center and the Chronicle of Higher Education have published a new report on the perceived value, quality and mission of higher education in the US that could impact higher education policy at both the state and federal levels. Is College Worth It? explores the views and beliefs of the general public and that of public and for-profit college and university presidents on cost, value, student loans, and achieving President Obama’s goal of increasing the number of college graduates by 2020.
