IEP University Designation & Award Process
The IEP Universities program is divided into two components. First, institutions must earn the IEP university designation. They then qualify to apply for IEP university awards. A university must be a recipient of the designation before it can apply for the award. Questions regarding the IEP universities program may be directed to Shalin Jyotishi.
IEP University Designation Application
Designation application submissions are accepted four times a year.
The submission dates for 2017 are:
- February 3
- May 5
- August 4
- December 1

- February 2
- May 4
- August 3
- December 7

IEP University Awards
IEP University Awards are given annually in four categories - Talent, Innovation, Place & Connections. An institution must receive the IEP university designation in order to apply for an IEP award. Awardees receive a commemorative plaque, along with a certificate, and a logo that can be used in the university’s print materials and websites to promote the institution’s honor. Award winners are also recognized on APLU's website and communication channels, through the IEP Case Studies library, and during a special ceremony at the APLU Annual Meeting.
