Abigail serves as the Senior Associate, Governmental Affairs. She manages the day-to-day operations of APLU’s Council on Governmental Affairs (CGA) including:
Before joining APLU, Abigail served as a Government Affairs Intern in the University of Vermont's Office of State and Federal Relations. Abigail also served as a Legislative Intern on Senator Patrick Leahy's staff. There she attended briefings and wrote memoranda on issues related to international relations, migration, and the environment. Prior to working on Capitol Hill, Abigail held various roles on local, state, and congressional campaigns.
Abigail is a graduate of the University of Vermont where she majored in Political Science and double minored in Global Studies and Speech & Debate. In undergrad, she played an active role on campus as a Student Government Senator and Treasurer of UVM's Lawrence Debate Union. During Abigail’s tenure on the debate team, she competed in five countries, including the World Universities Debating Championship in South Africa in 2018 and Thailand in 2019.
In her free time, Abigail enjoys reading political memoirs and running half marathons. Abigail is also currently pursuing her master’s degree.
