Julia Michaels

Julia Michaels is Executive Director, Center for Public University Transformation (CPUT) & Associate Vice President, APLU. In this role she engages networks of universities, professional associations, and other higher education stakeholders to bring student success solutions to scale. She has designed collaborative learning experiences for leaders, conducted research studies to improve evidence for higher education innovations, and drafted numerous proposals for grant funding. Prior to APLU, Julia worked for the Annette Strauss Center for Civic Life at the University of Texas at Austin and the Oregon University System. She holds a Master of Public Policy degree from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Arts from Saint Olaf College.
