Andréa Rodriguez now serves as Director of the Coalition of Urban Serving Universities.
Before her promotion to Director, Andréa served as Assistant Director, where she played a crucial role in advancing student success, university transformation, and 21st-Century workforce efforts. Her extensive experience and knowledge in the higher education space, with a particular emphasis on equity, access, and social justice, gives her the ability to lead cross-institutional student success projects. Andréa has now assumed full leadership of the Frontier Set initiative, a major Bill and Melinda Gates grant in APLU/USU’s portfolio.
Her commitment to supporting higher education systems, community, and university partnerships, across the APLU and USU networks, will help advance APLU/USU’s collective impact efforts.
Andréa earned her B.S in English Literature and her M.A. in Liberal Studies with a focus on Secondary Education from The College at Brockport, SUNY. She later pursued a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration with a focus on Student Affairs from George Washington University. She is currently completing her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Management, focusing on Education Policy at Drexel University.
