APLU Names Florida Atlantic University 2022 Degree Completion Award Winner
Nov. 6, 2022—The Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) named Florida Atlantic University (FAU) the winner of its 2022 Degree Completion Award during a ceremony at its annual meeting. The Degree Completion Award works to identify, recognize, and reward institutions that employ innovative and evidence-based approaches to improve degree completion while ensuring educational quality.

APLU Names University of Georgia 2022 C. Peter Magrath Community Engagement Scholarship Award Winner
Nov. 6, 2022—In recognition of extraordinary community outreach, the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) named the University of Georgia (UGA) the winner of the 2022 C. Peter Magrath Community Engagement Scholarship Award during a ceremony at the group’s annual meeting in Denver.

APLU Names Winners of 2022 Innovation & Economic Prosperity University Awards
Nov. 6, 2022—The Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) named three winners of its 10th annual Innovation & Economic Prosperity (IEP) University Awards and nine new IEP University designees. The awards recognize innovative projects or programs in economic engagement.

USDA Announces National Teaching Awards for Food and Agricultural Sciences
Nov. 6, 2022—The Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) honored four public university faculty with national teaching awards recognizing excellence in agricultural sciences teaching and student engagement. Jacquelyn Dee Mosley of the University of Arkansas and Shyam Nair of Sam Houston State University were named national recipients of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Excellence in College and University Teaching Awards for Food and Agricultural Sciences. Rebecca Baldwin of the University of Florida and Mary Kay Pohlschneider of the Ohio State University were named recipients in the national Teaching and Student Engagement category. The awards, which celebrate university faculty for their use of innovative teaching methods and service to students were presented as part of the 135th APLU Annual Meeting.

USDA, APLU & Cooperative Extension Award Top Honors in Extension Excellence and Diversity
Nov. 6, 2022—Recognizing visionary leadership and diversity in educational programming, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA), the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU), and Cooperative Extension announced the 2022 Top Honors in Extension Excellence and Diversity. USDA-NIFA, APLU, and Cooperative Extension have sponsored the awards since 1991.
