Association Coalition Patent Letter 2014

This letter from December 2014, signed by five higher education associations and other interested parties, is in opposition to H.R. 9, the Innovation Act. The letter highlights the need for addressing abusive litigation by patent assertion entities, commonly known as “patent trolls,” but cautions against overly broad reform in light of recent decisions by the Supreme Court, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Patent and Trademark Office.
