APLU joined higher education association comments on the Department of Education’s draft dear colleague regarding the handling of student medical records. The comments express concern with deviating from Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) standards to include standards from the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
