The South Dakota State University School of Design invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Architecture to begin no later than January 2, 2023. This is a full time, nine-month, benefit eligible appointment and the position reports to the Director of the School of Design.
The School of Design has three accredited-built environment majors: architecture, landscape architecture and interior design. The School of Design also includes the visual arts: graphic design, and studio arts. Collectively, School faculty form a collaborative teaching and research environment that values cross-program and interdisciplinary initiatives. The successful candidate will contribute to building national and international stature and recognition for the discipline, School and University.
SDSU offers a 4-year Bachelor of Fine Arts in Architecture and a 2-year NAAB accredited Masters of Architecture degree. Architecture has a unique mandate to remain a small program of no more than 220 students, making it one of the smallest architecture programs in the USA working within a fabric of small agrarian and mining cities. https://www.sdstate.edu/architecture
