About This Role:

The KSU Sorghum Molecular Breeding program is seeking an Associate Scientist to conduct hightroughput phenotyping and molecular breeding research activities. The Associate Scientist will be primarily responsible for UAV and mounted phenotyping systems, marker-assisted selection to transfer loci of interest into elite backgrounds and validate their function. In addition, the Associate Scientist will coordinate and manage laboratory, field, and computational activities within the group.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

• M.S. in Plant Breeding, Crop Genetics, or related field.

• Two years relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Plant Breeding, Crop Genetics, or related field.

• Experience with UAV and mounted phenotyping systems.

• Experience with databases and/or programming.

• Experience handling farm machinery, in small plot research setting and/or in production agriculture.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$40,000 - $55,000. Salary commensurate with experience.
