JOB SUMMARY:

Direct and manage all activities related to student services for for AGRB, Ag Ed, and AGM undergraduate and graduate programs including scheduling, advising, creating and managing recruitment and retention, and serving a the liaison between the College and University student services office for accreditation and reporting. Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES:

65% – Essential – Student Advising: Assists in the design, development, and implementation of student services with faculty input for the undergraduate and graduate programs in the Department of Agriculture Sciences (AS). Provides primary support for faculty and students on issues related to academics, registration, scholarships, study abroad, and Co-op opportunities. Plans and coordinates registration materials and advising sessions. Serves as the primary contact for advising students at all class level in Ag Education, Agribusiness, and Ag Mechanization and Business. Organizes group meetings with students to assess degree progress and informs faculty and chair. Serves as liaison for AS with CAFLS and University Student Services.

15% – Essential – Recruitment and Retention: Works with faculty to create, conduct, and implement orientation activities for freshman and transfer students. Designs and prepares presentation materials for use at orientation. Coordinates recruiting process for undergraduate and graduate students, distributes information packets, and confers with prospective students and their families. Represents AS programs at career days for technical colleges. Conducts advisory sessions and works with club advisors to ensure compliance with University rules and regulations.

10% – Essential – Coordination of Course Offerings: Create master schedule of classes and labs for fall, spring, and seven sessions of summer school; recertification for education courses; prerequisite checks; and request logs, ensuring as few conflicts as possible. Collects data for the preparation of student and faculty reports using various University resources.

10% – Essential – System Maintenance and iRoar Management: Serves as iRoar coordinator for AS. Assists and trains faculty and students on iRoar. Maintains program and academic records for the Agriculture Mechanization and Business, Agricultural Education, and Agribusiness undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Maintains up-to-date advising and transfer files, work with graduating students to ensure all required firms are completed. Serves as liaison between AS and Office of Admissions, Enrolled Student Services, and Registration Services.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education – 1st Bachelor’s Degree
Work Exp 2+ years

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Expected Salary Range ($52,000 – $55,000)
