Cleveland State University seeks an inclusive, entrepreneurial, collaborative and experienced academic leader to serve as the next dean of the Monte Ahuja College of Business.
Founded in 1964, Cleveland State University (CSU) is a public, urban research institution that provides a dynamic setting for engaged learning. Serving a diverse population of nearly 16,000 students, CSU is the No. 1 public university in Ohio for social mobility. Approximately 80-percent of CSU graduates stay in Northeast Ohio, creating a talent pipeline with expertise and skills that align with high-demand fields.

CSU 2.0 outlines multimillion-dollar investments in research, faculty positions and initiatives to advance student success, develop new programs and build new partnerships.
The Monte Ahuja College of Business (the College) aims to build, provide and reinforce foundational support for students and to the Northeast Ohio business community. The College’s downtown location centers the College among Fortune 500 businesses and emerging tech startups, offering an ideal level of accessibility for CSU students and the businesses the university serves. The College and its Department of Accounting are both accredited by AACSB.
The next dean of the Monte Ahuja College of Business will invigorate the faculty and staff through the creation of a vibrant vision for a distinguished and contemporary college of business. In support of CSU’s teacher-scholar model, the dean will play a key role working with faculty, the provost and other administrators to establish a high standard for scholarly inquiry and productivity. They will foster an inclusive learning environment that serves CSU’s diverse student body, ensuring all students have what they need to thrive during their time at CSU and successfully obtain their degrees. They will be an advocate for the College both across the university and in the community, strengthening CSU’s partnerships in Cleveland and beyond. The new dean will be proactive and entrepreneurial in identifying compelling priorities for support and developing productive and enduring relationships with internal and external constituents.
The ideal candidate should either possess academic credentials suitable for the granting of academic tenure within the College and five or more years of leadership at the departmental level or higher, or a proven record of high-level leadership in business, the public or nonprofit sectors who also shows a deep commitment to higher education and an understanding of the future of business education in an urban environment. The dean will be a strong communicator and collaborator, who has shown the ability to work with different disciplines or with different and diverse constituents.
