About This Role:
The Kansas State Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (KSVDL; http://www.ksvdl.org/) and Department of Diagnostic Medicine/Pathobiology (DMP; https://www.vet.k-state.edu/academics/dmp/, College of Veterinary Medicine, Kansas State University seek an enthusiastic clinical pathologist, a collaborative team player with a keen sense of humor. The position is a clinical track at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level.
The KSVDL is a full-service, AAVLD-accredited laboratory, offering a complete range of diagnostic services for all species. The DMP is comprised of faculty with expertise in pathology, immunology, infectious disease, epidemiology, toxicology, and oncology. They contribute to training of veterinary students, graduate students, and post-doctoral trainees and residents.
The candidate will join a pathology team of clinical anatomic pathologists. The candidate will be a leader in building our clinical pathology residency program and serve as a resource to medical technologists in the state-of-the-art KSVDL clinical pathology lab.This position carries an appointment of 70-85% diagnostic service including all routine services provided by the clinical pathology lab, such as interpretation of cytology, hematology, chemistry, and urine samples, and consultation with clinicians, house officers, and veterinary students. The remaining appointment is divided between teaching (continuing education, outreach, mentoring of residents and interns, and instruction of senior veterinary students) and other scholarly activities. Opportunities exist for collaborative and clinical investigative research. The chosen candidate is expected to follow the KSVDL quality management system documents and processes and the AAVLD Standard.
