South Dakota State University College of Nursing is offering an exciting career opportunity as a Clinical Assistant Professor. The College of Nursing is especially interested in candidates who have significant potential for building an extramurally funded program of research. Research priorities are improvement of health outcomes, promoting health for rural and underserved populations, and transforming nursing and inter-professional health education. This is a 12 month, 100% time, benefit eligible position. This position is supervised by the APRN Program Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must hold a Doctoral degree completed by date of application;
• Licensed by the South Dakota Board of Nursing or eligible for licensure as an APRN as evidenced by current licensure in another state;
• Nationally Certified as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner;
• Minimum of two years as practicing Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner;
• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work as a contributing team member;
• Demonstrated use of technology in managing and/or delivering educational programs;
• Demonstrated ability or potential to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate educational materials and direct effective programs;
• Valid driver’s license, or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire, and willingness to travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Evidence of professional service;
• Formal teaching experience in nursing;
• Demonstrated evidence of potential for scholarly activity;
• Experience in publishing extension materials and peer reviewed journals.
