College Business Analyst Principal

The College of Agriculture, Food and Environment is seeking a Business Operations Director for Cooperative Extension. This position serves as the chief business officer for the Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service and leads the analysts, financial compliance officers, and staff on the Extension Business Operations team. The Extension Business Operations Director maintains a comprehensive understanding of all fund sources, provides daily guidance, oversees the year-end and budget preparation processes for county Extension offices, and serves as a resource for campus-based Extension units. In addition, the position interprets and administers all fiscal policies and procedures; leads training related to financial management, policies, and procedures; leads all business management activities; serves as a resource for fiscal management via the QuickBooks accounting system; and ensures effective internal controls are implemented. The director liaisons with the Kentucky Department of Local Government and maintains a working knowledge of the regulations, policies and procedures that apply to local Extension districts. This individual supervises members of the Extension Business Operations team, provides training and mentorship for team members, and fosters a commitment to positive customer service and effective communication. A strong analytical and continuous improvement mindset will be crucial in this role as there will be a great deal of collaborative effort with the college business center, departments, and county extension offices.
