CSU Spur Community Engagement & Outreach Coordinator (Bilingual,English/Spanish)
The CSU Spur Community and Outreach Coordinator will serve as representative and ambassador of the CSU System in the Denver community, working in close collaboration with local community partners and outlying state partners to provide resources and build partnerships that are responsive to community needs and CSU objectives.
The coordinator must be able to take initiative and work independently, tactfully cultivate relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders, and should have a strong record of program coordination experience to execute community engagement and collaborative partnerships. The coordinator will work with CSU Spur team, CSU Extension leadership and staff across Colorado, and the community regularly to extend information both to the community and to the CSU System. The coordinator will further support the development of an engagement network which will create communication across our statewide networks of CSU Extension offices, Collaboration Campuses, the Northeast Engagement Center, and the CSU System.
The coordinator may also supervise students and staff and will perform regular administrative tasks. The coordinator will be the sole full-time community engagement staff person at first, building on the past efforts of others on the CSU Spur and CSU Extension. The coordinator will often attend and manage CSU Spur presence at community sites and events, connect with organizations about partnership opportunities, and plan and deliver outreach-related events and community programs independently.
Success in this position requires the ability to interface and communicate easily across cultures and socio-economic groups, ages, abilities, and affiliations. It also requires the ability to learn about services and structures of the CSU System to make effective connections between communities and the organization. This position requires prioritization among multiple projects, working under pressure, and handling the unexpected with professionalism. Given the nature of this position, flexible scheduling, including evening and/or weekend work, is required.
