Coordinator for Student Success and Opportunity

The South Dakota State University (SDSU) Wintrode Student Success and Opportunity Center is offering an exciting career opportunity as the Coordinator for Student Success and Opportunity. This is a 12-month, full-time, benefit-eligible position that is supervised by the Director of the Wintrode Student Success and Opportunity Center. The Opportunity Center supports the holistic needs of students and facilitates collaboration between SDSU student success programs. The Wintrode Center values student-centered approaches, the unique strengths of each individual, and excellence in teaching, learning, and service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain information about programs that are part of the Student Success NETwork and facilitate regular connections between staff from these programs.
  • Launch and lead a Student Success Liaison program through NETwork programs and identify a staff member to serve as a liaison to the NETwork.
  • Facilitate a training program and develop resources to help faculty and staff understand and respond to student needs.
  • Conduct success planning meetings with students and facilitate referrals to support their holistic needs.
  • Assist with maintaining the university’s student success platform; update university information in the platform, manage product releases, and integrate information in a way that meets faculty, staff, and student needs.
  • Co-lead the ConnectState training team.
  • Assist with evaluating student success outcomes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree completed by first day of employment;
  • At least three years of experience working with advising or student success programs;
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, lead, and evaluate effective programs;
  • Experience facilitating collaborative projects;
  • Effective written communication skills;
  • Effective verbal and interpersonal skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Education, Guidance and Counseling, Adult and Higher Education or related field;
  • Demonstrated experience impacting student outcomes;
  • Demonstrated use of technology in managing and/or delivering student-centered academic success initiatives;
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
