About This Role: seek a talented and experienced Director of Human Resources and Diversity. Reporting to the, this position is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources unit including serving as the primary point of contact for all human resources functions, providing leadership and management of all activities including recruiting, developing, and retaining a diverse workforce. In addition, this position manages and oversees diversity programs and services for K-State Libraries. The Human Resources and Diversity Director serves on the Libraries' senior leadership team and strategic leadership council.

K-State Libraries support and advance the teaching, research, and service mission of We employ approximately 75 faculty and staff and over 65 student employees. • Represents the K-State Libraries in university-wide diversity activities, serves as the Libraries' Diversity Point Person, and serves as the chair of the Libraries' Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) Working Group.

• Leads the recruitment of and support for a diverse and highly qualified staff of library faculty, unclassified professionals, university support staff, and student assistants. Provides liaison with relevant campus offices including Human Capital Services and the Provost's Office and works closely with the Libraries' Financial Services staff to meet this goal.

• Organizes, creates and sustains a professionally satisfying workplace for all employees, collaboratively designs and implements innovative human resource and staff development programs; and develops and fosters a continuous learning environment through a comprehensive staff learning and development program.

• Coordinates and supports search, appointment, and performance evaluation for all positions and oversees documentation of and procedures for the library faculty promotion and tenure process.

• Establishes and maintains liaison relationship with Library and Information Science graduate programs outside of Kansas State University.

• Cultivates trust and professional relationships with all levels of the organization. Advises supervisors and employees on policy and procedures. Provides assistance with employee relations.

• Provides oversight for Libraries personnel records retention, personnel transactions, and time and leave entry.

• Supervises one employee with shared HR and Financial Services responsibilities.

• Participates actively in library leadership through shared decision-making for library-wide planning, personnel actions, resource management, organizational effectiveness, and program and policy development.

Partial remote or hybrid work arrangement is available for this position.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resource management, or related field.

• Five years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to initiate and maintain professional relationships with diverse groups and individuals.

• Knowledge of employment practices and trends in libraries and/or higher education including faculty promotion and tenure.

• Supervisory experience.

• Familiarity with employment related laws, regulations, and policies.

• Demonstrated evidence of successful experience in recruiting, retaining, and developing a diverse workforce preferably in higher education.

• Demonstrated excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills evidenced by success in collaborative work.

• PHR/SPHR Certification and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range:

$58,038 - $75,454 annually
