Director of Finance

The Iowa State University Alumni Association's (ISUAA) mission is to facilitate the lifetime connection of alumni, students, and friends with Iowa State University and each other. This position serves as the Director of Finance for the ISUAA and is responsible for performing all financial duties, as well as coordinating the annual independent audit of the association, including site visits, conferences, and other professional development activities to improve ISUAA operations.

The position serves as the finance liaison for the association to the Iowa State University Foundation and university regarding accounts held for the association by each entity as well as the Treasurer to the Stanton Memorial Carillon Foundation. The position does research, collects data, provides reports and data analysis to determine financial risk, and conducts forecasting for the Lora and Russ Talbot Endowed President & CEO, Board of Directors, and leadership team. This position also serves on the leadership team.

In addition, the Director of Finance oversees the overall operations of the Iowa State University Alumni Center facility operations, including supervision of the Manager of Alumni Center Operations; overseeing risk management of the Alumni Center; managing maintenance, construction and expansion projects; and addressing building concerns as they arise when the Manager of Alumni Center Operations is unavailable.

The successful candidate will have the ability to think strategically and analytically about business challenges, develop compelling value propositions, and implement creative solutions to meet organizational objectives. The ability to manage, motivate, and evaluate staff, as well as collaborate with staff, is essential for success in this role.
