The University of Missouri Conference Office is a full-service, one-stop registration and event planning office for groups ranging in size from five to 5,000 attendees anywhere in the world. Unit supports registration management for over 500+ conferences annually. This full-time position supports the Sr. Business Services Consultant with the daily operations of registration unit staff utilizing Cvent registration and event management software.
Manage daily operations of a conference registration team in a fast-paced environment serving over 500+ conferences and events annually. Review new business requests and process staff assignments for registration development and customer support. Complete registration development for complex events and augment staff workflow during peak registration.
Serve as technical resource to unit staff for Cvent assistance and training. Responsible for analyzing complex registration requests, research and implement solutions. Communicate registration policy and procedures to colleagues and external customers. Provide face to face and phone consultation with clients on how to utilize registration services. Unit liaison to Cvent online customer support for system consultation related to event registration development. Cvent certification required and funded by unit.
Monitor registration development to ensure template specifications and image library are up to date for branding and consistency requirements. Oversee event report portal, serve as report expert and provide training for report preparation and interpretation to colleagues and external customers. Prepare unit level data reporting for Sr. Business Services Consultant.
Monitor registration transaction processing and consult unit fiscal staff for verification or troubleshooting. Review and document system errors and summarize recommendations for system improvements. Prepare and review event closeouts and verify registrant fee data for billing.
Provide direct support for Sr. Business Services Consultant, including special projects, reporting, and policy and procedure recommendations for registration unit. Summarize Cvent enhancements and implement across unit.
Conduct all activities in accordance with the Civil Rights Acts, Title IX, Rehabilitation, Americans with Disabilities Act and local, state and region affirmative action plans.
As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected in order to support the mission and purpose of MU Extension.
LEADERSHIP RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Administrative supervision is received from Sr. Business Services Consultant.
Supervise registration specialists and student assistants.

A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Candidates will be evaluated on
Effective communication skills and problem solving, superior customer service relations, attention to detail and time management, advanced computer skills with Word, Access, Outlook and particularly Excel. Affinity to learn and use new software. Some lifting required. Occasional travel and offsite meetings and therefore a valid driver’s license is required.
