About This Role:

The Department of Horticulture and Natural Resources at Kansas State University is recruiting an ecologist to investigate landscape-scale drivers of medium-sized mammal distributions in the Great Plains. The incumbent will be using a multispecies detection dataset derived from camera trap encounters at almost 400 sites over three years (the entire western third of Kansas, USA). We anticipate funding for this position will last until December 2022. Because there is no field work associated with this position, the successful applicant could be eligible for remote work.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. or A.B.D. in ecology or wildlife management or appropriate discipline

• Good organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with distribution and abundance modelling using unmarked populations

• Excellent quantitative and communication skills

Other Requirements:

This position is eligible for remote work and must be located within the United States in order to comply all with all Federal, State, and local payroll withholding taxes and wage requirements.
