About This Role:

The Agronomy Department at Kansas State University is looking for a post-doctoral Fellow to work on genomic/bioinformatic aspects of research intended to facilitate, characterize and utilize introgression of new traits into wheat from wild relative and unadapted materials. This person will work closely with K-State and USDA-ARS personnel to understand introgression of new diversity from wild relatives into wheat with a focus on yield, disease resistance and quality related traits and also facilitate and characterize yield associated genes from outside the adapted gene pool.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

• Ph.D. in Plant Breeding, Genetics, Bioinformatics or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two years experience analyzing large genomic data sets

• Knowledge and experience in conducting GWAS and QTL analyses

• Demonstrated ability to write manuscripts for publication in refereed journals

• Demonstrated ability to analyze data using R, experience using high-performance computing clusters
